LEARN MORE

With the advent of consumer nicotine vaping, tons of industry terms have popped up around the various e-liquids available on the market. Don’t get too bogged down, because we’ve got you covered. Things are more simple than they seem, but there’s still a few things you should know. Here’s a quick buyer’s guide for anyone looking into our selection of e-liquids.

Regular E-liquids vs. Nicotine Salt Based E-liquids

If you’re a chemist, there are plenty of differences between your standard e-liquid and a salt nic e-liquid. If you’re just someone looking for a quality e-liquid to vape, things are much more simple. Basically, a salt nic comes from the natural nicotine salts that occur in the tobacco leaf, and they are much more concentrated than your typical vape juice. On appearance they look the same, but a regular e-juice is consumed primarily using sub-ohm tanks and mech coil tanks combined with a box mod, while a nic salt is made for pod systems.

Nic salts are typically found in pod systems because pods are usually less powerful than a box mod, so the juice doesn’t vaporize as efficiently. This means that in order to get the same effect as a regular e-liquid, pods have to be filled with a substance that’s more densely packed with nicotine.

 What is PG and VG?

You’ll see “PG” and “VG” mentioned in many descriptions of e-liquids out there. The acronyms stand for “propylene glycol” and “vegetable glycerin,” and they are two of the primary components in any and all e-liquids, the other two being nicotine and flavoring. Different brands and flavors use different ratios of PG/VG, so it’s important that you recognize what you like or dislike about the two compounds.

VG is thicker in consistency and sweeter in flavor, so you’ll often see more VG used in dessert vapes. VG is also known for creating bigger, denser clouds. PG, however, has very little noticeable flavor. If you did or still do smoke cigarettes, you’ll notice that an e-liquid higher in PG will hit more like a cigarette as it creates more of a “throat hit” feeling. Make sure you’re taking note of what ratio the e-juice you’re vaping consists of as you’ll want to find the ratio you prefer early on if you can.

Pick Your Favorite E-juice Flavor

There are virtually unlimited flavors out there in people’s vaping devices. Whether you want something fruity sweet like kiwi-strawberry or something more subtle like a vanilla cream pie, you’ll be able to find it on VaporDNA.

Finding the Right Brand for You

You’ll notice that every brand on here has a slightly different vibe or aesthetic to their e-liquids, and there’s probably just as much variety in the way they approach producing them. When you try a vape for the first time, you’ll want to take note of what you’re liking and disliking about every draw. Does it hit too harsh? Maybe try something cut with more PG. Is the flavor too overwhelming? Try an e-liquid that’s not as loaded with flavors and go for something more simple.

In the end, your vape is the experience that you make of it. Check out the many options we have in store for you at VaporDNA, and let’s start molding that experience together.
